Dr. Edward T. Marshall, Jr. established his practice in Akron in 1987, dedicating his career to serving the community he grew up in for over 30 years.  A graduate of Kent State University, who continued his education at Case Western Reserve University of Dental Medicine and later went on to complete his oral and maxillofacial surgical training at the Medical University of South Carolina, in Charleston, S.C. 

Dr. Marshall is a highly trained and board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon.  He was the first oral and maxillofacial surgeon to perform the “all-on-4-procedure”, in Akron.  This procedure continues to be easily completed as an in-office same-day treatment.  

Outside of his office and operating room Dr. Marshall pursues his passions by teaching the next generation of surgeons as an associate professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery. He also supports the Summa General Practice Dental Residency program.  Dr. Marshall maintains active staff privileges at all three Akron hospitals and provides support by serving as the Chief of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in the Department of Surgery at Akron General Medical Center, Summa Health Systems and Children’s Hospital Medical Center of Akron.

Dr. Marshall spends his personal time with his family and by giving back to the community.  Happily married for 35 years to his loving wife Barb, they’ve raised 3 children and are now enjoying the joys of being grandparents.  Dr. Marshall volunteers regularly at the General Practice Residency Clinic at Summa Hospital and at CWRU School of Dental Medicine.  He actively supports the Akron Public School Districts and surrounding schools, The Jesuit Retreat House, Health Volunteers Overseas, and Victory Gallop.  He even finds time to enjoy a little baseball through the West Akron Baseball league, where he plays, coaches and sponsors his grandson’s team.
